There are very few requirements relating to the lives of parent and offspring animals. In terms of the way food produce is harvested from animals, and the ways that they are transported and slaughtered — this label has some requirements for farmed animals to be treated with sensitivity.

There are some requirements for producers to produce food that is healthy, nutritious and safe to eat. There are a small number of requirements regarding the rights, treatment, pay and opportunities of workers. This label doesn’t require food to be produced in a way that benefits communities.

There are some requirements relating to the quality, independence, and timings of inspections. Food producers have a small number of requirements to monitor and evaluate their impact on the planet, people and animals. This label has a small focus on increasing understanding and enabling improvements to the way food is produced.
